About Me

Artist Statement

Blending reality and fantasy allows my artwork to convey a message that I have trouble articulating into words, which is hope lies within yourself. I use acrylic paint to find that balance to portray a dream like world where the subconscious becomes prominent. I find it important to showcase a message that viewers to imagine a free-floating universe where they can connect to a pocket realm inside themselves, and know that humanity does care.  There is an internal conflict brewing in every person between how to balance personal desires while still unselfishly caring for others. I want to capture that struggle showing that balance can be achieved while remaining empathetic to others.

I am originally from Minnesota and am the youngest of 5, I have one older brother and 3 older sisters. I just recently moved to Nevada. I took up sketching at a young age. I  joined the Air Force in 1997 and was stationed in Germany and enjoyed the art and culture there. I got out of the military and took up painting and studied as a protégé student under Sara Hanlon, a Minneapolis College of Art and Design graduate. I enjoyed volunteering at the Minneapolis Institute of Art, which is one of the largest Museums in the country.
